Frequently asked questions

What kinds of files can I import?

Glyph reads EPUB, PDF, and CBZ (comic book) files. Tap the import button to add them from Files, iCloud, Mail attachments, or a download — or drag them straight in. Support for additional document formats is on the roadmap.

Where do my books live?

Imported books are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your files to our servers.

How does the Glyph companion work?

The Glyph companion — including Summarize, Catch Me Up, and Ask — sends the relevant chapter or passage text through our backend to a third-party provider and returns the result. The original text is not retained, and is not used to train any models. See our privacy policy for the full list of processors.

What does Glyph Pro include?

Glyph Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the full Glyph companion and higher monthly usage limits. New capabilities are added to Pro as the app grows. The free tier covers a small daily quota for casual use.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → tap Glyph → Cancel Subscription. You can also cancel from the App Store app by tapping your profile picture and choosing Subscriptions. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period.

How do I get a refund?

Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by Glyph. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I bought Glyph Pro but the paid features aren't unlocking.

Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases. If that doesn't help, make sure your device is online. Entitlement is verified through our backend on first use after a purchase. If the issue persists, email support@glyphreader.app and include the approximate purchase date so we can look it up.

Does Glyph work offline?

Reading works offline. The Glyph companion requires an internet connection because its replies are generated server-side.

Does Glyph collect my reading data?

No. Glyph has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
