Frequently asked questions

What kinds of files can I import?

Glyph reads EPUB files today. Drag any EPUB into Glyph from Files, iCloud, Mail attachments, or a download. Support for additional document formats is on the roadmap.

Where do my books live?

Imported books are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your EPUB files to our servers.

How does the AI summary feature work?

When you tap Summarize, Glyph sends the relevant chapter or passage text through our backend to Anthropic's Claude API and returns the summary. The original text is not retained, and Anthropic does not use it to train their models.

What does Glyph Pro include?

Glyph Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks up to 50 AI summaries per month and the ability to summarize highlighted passages on demand. The free tier covers a small daily quota for casual use.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → tap Glyph → Cancel Subscription. You can also cancel from the App Store app by tapping your profile picture and choosing Subscriptions. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period.

How do I get a refund?

Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by Glyph. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I bought Glyph Pro but the paid features aren't unlocking.

Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases. If that doesn't help, make sure your device is online — entitlement is verified through our backend on first use after a purchase. If the issue persists, email support@glyphreader.app and include the approximate purchase date so we can look it up.

Does Glyph work offline?

Reading works offline. The AI summary features require an internet connection because the summaries are generated server-side.

Does Glyph collect my reading data?

No. Glyph has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
